On Wednesday, April 14th, 2010, there will be an election for BPSOF Secretary here at the Federation between 6:30 am and 6:00 pm. Lieutenant Joseph Toomey of Area D-14 and Lieutenant Haseeb Hosein of Area C-6 are both running for this position.
Also, on that day's ballot there will be a referendum question proposing a Federation By-Law change regarding Article VII - Meetings.
The current language states ... "There shall be a regular open meeting of the general membership held three times in each calendar year, in the Winter, Spring, and Fall. Proper notice of the meeting will given at least seven (7) days in advance of the meetings".
The proposed language change would replace the aforementioned section with..."All Federation monthly meetings will be open to the general membership".
A Yes vote would support the proposed by-law change.
April's meeting (Spring) will be open to all members. |

As of 5:00pm, this evening the BPSOF is pleased to announce the appointment of Sergeant Joseph Britt, a 31 year veteran of the Department and a 5 year member of the BPSOF, as interim BPSOF representative at Area E-13, Jamaica Plain. Joe will be filling in for Sgt. Winny Cotter who was transferred to Area A-7. Thank you Winny for your service to the Federation and good luck in the new assignment. An election for this position will be held before April 16, 2010. Any Federation member assigned to Area E-13 who wishes to run for this position, should make their intention known in writing to Federation Secretary Maura Flynn within seven days of the election.
